Microsoft Office SharePoint Server facilitates team collaboration by providing a comprehensive platform for sharing information and working with others. By integrating Workspaces, Tasks, Forums, Surveys, Blogs, RSS and Wikis, the platform allows collaboration between various users of MOSS.
Work done by Criti using collaboration
- Criti implemented and hosts multiple SharePoint farms for our client in US, that are used by their internal staff to manage meetings (e.g. publish agenda and minutes) and content (e.g. centralize storage of documents, use content search). Criti leveraged MOSS task–management, document-management, and issue-management capabilities. The end user’s security credentials determine what features and functionalities are available to them.
- We have designed and implemented custom site templates, customized surveys in SharePoint Designer that enable content and text to be added to the newform.aspx page, and implemented RSS feeds, Blogs and Wiki sites.
- We embedded a collaborative document–management application within SharePoint, leveraging Active Directory (AD) user groups, visible through SharePoint, to generate email notifications containing a single hyperlink back into the SharePoint–based AMS application. Permissions for AMS are based on the AD user groups and access is provided through single sign–on, so no additional authentication is required of end users. This approach provided infrequent users of the application with simple access, while ensuring their collaborative input. Our MOSS corporate intranet portal, provides collaboration capabilities in several areas. Our operational units have developed several custom site templates tailored to the specific services that we provide on the projects. Each project team collaboration portal offers capabilities for project tracking and oversight via integration with Microsoft Enterprise Project Management solution, issues tracking, risk management, resource management, project reporting, requirements management and traceability to test cases and implementation components. These collaboration portals leverage the functionality of SQL Server Reporting Services and SQL Server Analysis Services to provide advance dashboards and reporting capabilities. Our Project Team collaboration portals provide guidance to team members by facilitating the implementation of corporate processes and best practices via reference to our process asset library and the implementation of custom workflows.
